Being a ballerina and athlete for my whole life, health and fitness have always been extremely important to me. After my competitive ballet training ended, my diet and lifestyle habits, which once supported 6+ hours of training per day, stuck.
Though I continued to lead quite a healthy and active lifestyle, my body naturally started to change. I engaged Marcus for coaching because I wanted to learn what my body needed to feel and look its best within my current lifestyle. I’m also a very competitive and motivated person, always looking for the next challenge and ways to improve and better myself. Taking on this challenge was exactly what I needed, especially during a pandemic when I knew bad habits could easily creep in.
I chose to work with Marcus for a few reasons:
1. I really liked his vibe and thought we might connect well on a personal level. I knew a personal connection would be super important if we were going to successfully work together through something as challenging as fat loss!
2. I appreciated that Marcus focuses on working with busy professionals and therefore might understand some unique challenges like demanding schedules, competing priorities, and competitive/critical mindsets.
3. Lastly, because Marcus is fit as **** and so I figured he knew what he was doing! Lol.
I gained so much more from the experience than I ever could have imagined. I didn’t think I had 20lbs to lose, nor did I believe I was capable of losing 20lbs even if I needed to! The positive physical change in my body, both in appearance and function/ability, was so significant.
One of the best (and surprising) outcomes of the program, however, was the fact that I transformed mentally as much as I did physically! I learned to prioritize and be completely accountable to myself; Accountable for the decisions I make and the results that follow. I used to tell myself that “my body just likes staying right at this weight, no matter what I eat or how much I exercise.” I came to realize that I was only telling myself that as an excuse, because I simply wasn’t prepared to implement the actions necessary to make any change. Once I finally decided to put my mental chatter and stories aside, accepted Marcus’ coaching, and made a commitment to myself, I started to see amazing results.
Along the lines of self-prioritization and accountability, I also found journaling from Marcus’ program; a benefit and habit I never thought I’d develop from a nutrition program! Journaling has done wonders for my mental wellbeing and really helps me to understand how I’m feeling, what I need, and what my priorities are.
I really appreciated how simple and easy the program was to follow. There was no guess work involved and the plan was designed around my food preferences and eating habits (timing/frequency etc.). I’ve done programs in the past that required monotonous tracking using apps like MyFitnessPal and Chronometer. Tracking foods in an app is not a sustainable lifestyle and therefore it didn’t produce any lasting results for me. I also really appreciated how Marcus’ program is truly a lifestyle; something you can easily follow, strictly or loosely, for your entire life. It’s simple, repeatable, enjoyable, and effective!
There wasn’t anything I disliked about Marcus’ coaching and there’s nothing that I would change about his program…in fact, I learned to appreciate how Marcus would call me on my own shit! It was truly like having a diary that talked back and helped me to better understand myself. He has a great system, and it clearly works – both for him and his your clients!
